Globally Unique App for Corrosion Assessment of PV Substructures

No one sees it, yet it can threaten the stability of entire solar parks: Corrosion of photovoltaic substructures in the ground is an invisible risk factor. Until now, elaborate assessments and laboratory tests were necessary to evaluate soil corrosivity at a project site – a process that often takes weeks.

Now, for the first time, there is an online-based rapid assessment for this problem. A globally unique software app makes it possible to evaluate the corrosion behavior of PV system components in the ground within minutes. It was developed by an internationally active PV expert and engineer who leads a specialist office with 40 employees. His consolidated practical knowledge from decades of experience went into the development.

The app analyzes project data based on a previous soil analysis and calculates how strongly the substructure of a photovoltaic system is likely to corrode. It also takes into account interactions with neighboring infrastructures – for example, the influence of pipeline or railway network corrosion protection systems (CP/CPS systems) on the PV system.

This allows planners and operators to obtain a well-founded assessment in the shortest possible time on whether corrosion protection measures are necessary.

This digital solution combines technical depth with user-friendliness. Although the app is currently still in a test environment without graphical frills, it already impresses with its deep technical functions.

Particularly impressive is the real-time evaluation: Users can play with individual parameters and immediately see how changes affect the corrosion risk.

Time and cost advantages: Compared to traditional assessments, users save considerable effort. Instead of waiting weeks for a report, the results are available immediately – project-specific and precise. This helps to avoid expensive delays or damages.

Companies in the solar industry can thus secure an innovation advantage. Those who have become curious should not hesitate: Interested parties can now request a test access and experience the future of corrosion assessment themselves. Take the opportunity to get to know this innovation before Intersolar Europe 2025 – and proactively protect your investments from invisible dangers.
